Amazon Product Images Changed: Evidence and Recovery
Determine whether an Amazon image change is a catalog contribution, rights issue or product-version conflict before requesting restoration.
Map the affected image positions
Record the main image and each alternate image on desktop and mobile where practical. Note the marketplace, parent or child ASIN, color or size variation, and first observed time. An image may be wrong only for one child relationship.
Save the image URLs or original captures before submitting new assets. This preserves evidence if the page changes again.
Identify the correct product version
Use current packaging, manufacturer information, model identifiers and the physical unit to establish what the ASIN represents. Confirm whether the unexpected image shows an older version, regional package, bundle or genuinely unrelated product.
- High-resolution source files and creation records
- Product and packaging photos showing model or GTIN
- Manufacturer catalog or authorized product page
- Copyright ownership or license evidence when copying is alleged
- Prior accepted images and case history
Choose listing-field change or rights report
If the image is factually wrong for the ASIN, request a field correction with product evidence. If another party copied protected photography, identify the original work, ownership and exact copied material through the appropriate rights route.
Do not use copyright as a substitute for resolving a product-version disagreement. The requested action should match what the evidence proves.
Stop the image from reverting
Check feeds, integrations, agencies and variation parents that submit image data. Remove stale assets from authorized sources and monitor all affected child ASINs after restoration.
