Amazon Inauthentic Complaint Appeal: Evidence Checklist

Connect invoices, suppliers and order history to the affected ASINs before submitting an Amazon inauthentic-product complaint appeal.

Define the affected product and period

Save the complaint or performance notification and identify each ASIN, order reference, marketplace and date range. Match that scope to the inventory batches sold during the same period rather than uploading every supplier file the business owns.

Check whether the concern is truly authenticity, or whether product condition, packaging, version, labeling or listing accuracy may have shaped the customer complaint.

Build the supply-chain chain of custody

Map manufacturer, distributor, seller entity, warehouse and fulfillment route. Verify that invoices are genuine business records and that names, addresses, dates, product identifiers and quantities can be connected to the affected sales.

  • Supplier identity, contact details and commercial relationship
  • Invoice numbers, dates, quantities and product descriptions
  • Payment, shipping or receiving records where requested
  • Brand authorization or distribution records when applicable
  • Batch, serial or packaging evidence that connects units to the ASIN

Explain the root cause beyond the invoice

A valid invoice may establish sourcing, but the response should still address why the concern arose. Investigate listing accuracy, commingled inventory, supplier changes, packaging variation, returns inspection and customer-service patterns.

Document completed actions and the ongoing controls that prevent a repeat, such as supplier approval, inbound verification, batch records or condition checks.

Submit a traceable evidence package

Use a short index that connects each statement to an exhibit. Preserve original files and do not edit commercial records. If the requested record is unavailable, explain the gap honestly and determine whether other source evidence is accepted in the current workflow.
