Identify the precise restriction

Save the notice and record the ASIN, marketplace, product version, policy category and listing text cited. Rules and required documents can differ by country and product type, so do not rely on the status of the same item in another marketplace.

Review the physical product, ingredients or materials, packaging, age or safety warnings and all customer-facing claims. A prohibited claim can create a problem even when the underlying item is otherwise allowed.

Build a product compliance file

Check that each report names the same product, company and model shown on the listing. A certificate for a similar item is not automatically evidence for the affected ASIN.

• Manufacturer and model or product identifiers
• Ingredient, material, battery or formulation information
• Packaging and label images for the version actually sold
• Test reports, certificates or registrations requested in the notice
• Supplier and import records connecting the documents to the seller

Correct the offer and review process

Remove or pause affected offers where appropriate, correct inaccurate claims and quarantine inventory that cannot be supported. Record who approved the listing originally and why the restriction was missed.

Add a pre-listing policy and document review for category, marketplace, product version and marketing claims. Define renewal dates for time-sensitive compliance records.

Answer the notice, not a generic policy topic

State the diagnosed cause, completed listing or inventory action, and the evidence tied to the exact product. If the item is permitted, explain why with the requested documents; if it was not, acknowledge the error and show the control change.
