Amazon Listings Merged Incorrectly: Separation Guide

Map identifiers, products, reviews and catalog history before asking Amazon to separate detail pages that were merged incorrectly.

Reconstruct the pre-merge catalog

Record the surviving ASIN, any disappeared ASIN, current title, brand, images, reviews, variations and offers. Use earlier invoices, inventory labels, URLs, case records and catalog captures to show how the products existed before the merge.

Identify which product the current detail page describes and where inventory for each product is now attached.

Prove the products are distinct

A color or size difference may belong in a valid variation family rather than separate unrelated pages. Explain why the category's relationship rules do or do not apply.

  • Different GTIN, model, part number or manufacturer identity
  • Material differences in function, dimensions, contents or compatibility
  • Separate packaging, instructions, warranty or regulatory records
  • Different product images and customer-use expectations
  • Inventory and sales records tied to each original identifier

Request a defined separation

State the current ASIN, original ASINs, the product each should represent and the exact catalog outcome requested. Label evidence by product so specifications are not mixed in one attachment set.

Avoid creating replacement ASINs before understanding the merge. New duplicates can add catalog conflicts and stranded inventory.

Validate inventory and offers

After separation, verify titles, images, variations, offers and FBA inventory for both products. Check connected feeds so they do not merge the records again, and document any residual review or search issue separately.
