Investigate before denying the link

A seller may not recognize the account Amazon is concerned about, but an immediate absolute denial can create a credibility problem if an operational relationship later appears. Begin with an internal investigation covering ownership, employees, agencies, family businesses, former partners and service providers.

Ask who created, accessed, financed, registered or managed each known account. Preserve access and business records while the review is underway.

Build a relationship table

Create one row per person, entity or account. Record the relationship, relevant dates, type of access, shared details, business purpose and available proof. Mark unknown items for investigation rather than guessing.

• Employment, contractor or agency agreements
• Business addresses and legitimate shared facilities
• Authorized user history and access responsibilities
• Financial, tax or registration records requested by the notice

Explain legitimate overlap precisely

Shared information can have an ordinary business explanation. State the reason, date range and control boundaries. For example, a former agency relationship should be supported by an agreement, termination record and evidence that access was removed.

Do not submit documents merely because they contain a familiar name or address. Explain what each record proves and how it relates to the current account.

Address control weaknesses

If access governance contributed to the concern, document the correction. Review user permissions, remove obsolete access, define onboarding and offboarding steps, and keep an approval record for future access changes.

The response should distinguish the historical event from the current control environment. A promise to be careful is weaker than a dated control with a responsible owner.

Prepare a narrow, evidence-led appeal

Lead with the account and notice, then explain the verified relationship, supporting records, completed actions and current controls. If the suspected link is genuinely unknown after investigation, describe the checks performed and provide the evidence that supports your conclusion.

Keep copies of the submitted file and every response. Linked-account cases can evolve, so a reliable chronology matters.
